Tellepsen’s approach to quality is rooted in the philosophy of our founder, Tom Tellepsen, who said “Do it right, or don’t do it.” We continue to follow this long established model and have adopted the motto “Do it right the first time.” This succinct statement reinforces our two-fold commitment to our clients and our employees to continuously strive to deliver high-quality work in both our process and completed product.

Quality begins during preconstruction as we conduct peer reviews of the design documents. The focus is on discipline coordination and clash detection. We use building information modeling (BIM) to assist in this highly detailed review and analysis process. This review extends into value analysis to determine the optimum materials, systems and construction strategies to achieve the highest value for the lowest cost while maintaining the design intent. Virtual mock-ups are constructed in the computer to simulate construction and transition to actual mock-ups fabricated prior to initiating construction in the field.

We know that you get what you inspect, not what you expect. That’s why our Quality Control professionals are meticulous in their inspection of construction in the field. This includes reviewing the reports of independent inspection and testing companies to ensure compliance with plans and specifications. Our Quality Control professionals have sufficient authority, access to work and organizational empowerment to verify that all work is in general conformity with the contract documents. All deficiencies are recorded and rectified in an expedient and cost effective manner.
